Central warehouse Peštan company is located in Aranđelovac in Serbia, which is sized and designed to meet the requirements of the most demanding customers who want efficient and reliable delivery of products.
To respond to these requirements, Peštan has 15.000 m2 of closed storage space for finished and semi-finished products 10.000 m2 warehouse for raw materials and intermediate goods, and about 150.000 m2 of open warehouse space. We also have distribution centers in Belgrade, Niš, and Novi Sad.
By increasing business activities, and owning its own warehouses for storage of raw materials, semi-finished products, and finished products, in order to monitor the process more efficiently, the company has implemented SAP WMS-warehouse management. WMS enables monitoring and optimization of activities in different locations, reducing the time spent in receiving, storing, selecting, and preparing goods for delivery.
The implementation of WMS shortens the logistics processes and with the application of bar code, RFID technology reduces the number of errors caused by the human factor and quality ensures inventory management with a high level of accuracy in inventories, as well as accurately track inventory levels. The company uses the FIFO method for inventory turnover which implies the principle that the oldest products should be first shipped to the customer.
The transport service of the Peštan company, in order to respond to customer requests, engages third parties in the shipment of products through the construction of long-term and quality relationships, all with the focus on shortening the product shipment time. From the central warehouse, about 40 goods vehicles are loaded and shipped daily, and about 10 vehicles of feedstock and raw materials for production processes are unloaded.
The export orientation of the company is the reason for its own forwarding company, which performs all the necessary formalities in the customs procedure. The plan is to obtain the status of an authorized exporter, which enables domestic customs clearance of goods, a simplified export procedure in the factory, as well as a simplified import procedure.
